Activists and campaigners protested outside the Hungarian embassy in Dublin on 14th February.
The demonstration wascalled by the City is For All Group in Budapest and coincided with similar actions taking place in a number of European countries including Hungary, Portugal, France, Germany, Spain, Poland, England, Greece, Holland and Belgium.The Hungarian government has criminalised homelessness, resulting in people sleeping rough facing arrest and fines.
The law is part of a wider authoritarian trend across Europe; undermining of the right to housing; increased victimisation of Roma and other travellers.
