At the event on 26th and 27th June in Inistioge, county Kilkenny, Economic historian Conor McCabe talked about the life, times and legacy of trade union organiser Joe Hill, who was executed in the US in 1915.
Unite organiser Davy Kettyles addressed the event on the threat of the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership while Nevin Institute researcher Tom McDonnell discussed the impact of austerity on Irish society.
Independent TD, John Halligan, and SIPTU general President Jack O’Connor also spoke during the weekend. O’Connor made a call for greater unity of purpose on the left.
