During July, Housing activists opened up, repaired and refurbished the Bolt Hostel, at 38/39 Bolton Street, Dublin.
The property is owned by Dublin City Council but has been vacant for three years. The Irish Housing Network has stated it has reclaimed the building to house the homeless.
Seamus Farrell of the Irish Housing Network, said: “There are too many families that are sleeping in their cars, too many people on the streets, so we see vacant properties in the inner city and think we have to just go for it.”
