TTIP discussed in Cork

A well-attended LookLeft Forum in Cork on Saturday, 10th July discussed the impact of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and why it must be opposed.

The meeting was addressed by lecturer and social activist, Barry Finnegan, Workers’ Party Dublin City Councillor, Éilis Ryan and Chairman Alan Kidney.

Consensus at the meeting was that TTIP will to a large extend undermine the already limited legal and political avenues to meaningful social reform. It was felt that it also represents the wholesale destruction of democratic control over economic relations.
