Greece debated at LookLeft launch

Launch of LookLeft 22 at Liberty Hall, Dublin

LookLeft issue 22 was launched in early August with a lively debate on the lessons for Ireland from Greece.

At a capacity Liberty Hall event, historian Conor McCabe and journalist Ronan Burtenshaw debated the lessons to be gleaned from the Syriza government’s surrender to the Troika.

Burtenshaw spoke of the necessity of breaking from the single currency while McCabe argued that the most important thing the Irish Left could do is ensure that a left-wing government is able to offer solidarity with other European nations.
