Demonstrations have taken place across the world in solidarity with Cuba.
Anti-government rallies, which the Cuban government accused the United States of fuelling, had been organised to take place on the island on 15 November. The US has previously funded terrorism against Cuba, continues to blockade the country, and occupies a part of the island.
Despite the progress which took place during the Obama presidency, the US has made no secret of its wish to undermine and isolate the Caribbean island, with the US embargo having an impact of $9.1 million impact on Cuba in 2020 alone.
The solidarity rallies have taken place over the last week to highlight the ongoing difficulties caused by the blockade and to let the US know that the Cuban Revolution continues to inspire people across the world.
